Timetable will be updated as the course advances. From Plussa (this site) you can find more precise timetable information than from Sisu. If Sisu and Plussa contradicts with each other in their information, it is better to trust in Plussa.

Lectures / Q&A sessions¶
English lectures (Q&A sessions) will take place weekly from 26.8.2026 on:
Wed at 10-12 FA032 (Festia building, Hervanta campus)
Lectures will be recorded.
You can independently study all material (textual sections, videos, exercises). If questions arise, you can send them in Plussa sections Questions about earlier topics?, which can be found from the beginning of each chapter. Lecturer’s aim is to answer to these questions in inquiry hours in general, not in person to the questioner.
Questions are considered at the beginning of the lecture (QA session), and after that a usual lecture follows.
Weekly exercises¶
On the first course week, weekly exercises are exceptionally:

Weekly exercises hours will deal with an exercise (or a couple of them) from the current week. At each week, you can before-hand see, which exercise(s) will be considered. Exercises are not necessarily finished nor submitted in Plussa, and thus, you may need to complete them or fix them before submitting them in Plussa successfully.

Course week 1:
4.2.1 Submission policy of the course and 4.3.1 Creating .gitignore file and most probably also 5.3.3 Change (starting the exercise).
Course week 2:
6.3.2 Random numbers, 6.4.2 Vertical print, and 6.5.1 Sorting a string.
Course week 3:
7.1.2 Splitting a string, 7.5.3 Word counter line by line, and 7.5.4 Networking.
Course week 4:
Assignment and start of the 1. project: how to read data from the input file and store it to a suitable data structure, and how to implement the command

9.2.1 Count the points of the game Mölkky, 9.4.2 Pointers in a vector, and 9.5.1 Array operations.
Course week 6:
10.4.1 Moving cards, 10.3.1 Student register, and if there is time enough, also 10.5.1 Pocket calculator with a bit more than four operations.

The 2. project: exploring the project assignment and template code.
Weekly Kooditorio hours¶
Kooditorio hours will take place weekly from 27.8.2026 on:

The coditorium as held locally at the tietotalo building, at TC215.
In Kooditorio, you can ask questions related to course exercises and using Git, either in English or in Finnish. If you have no problems, you need not (and should not) join Kooditorio.

When project deadlines are close, there will be more Kooditorio hours. The additional hours can be found a bit later.
