Course staff and contact information

Contacts to course personnel

All the email will be sent to the email address of the course: prog2@tuni.fi. Emails sent to this address will be processed faster and more securely than emails sent to personal addresses of the course personnel. Messages sent to personal addresses can be lost in huge amount of other messages and be never replied.

At least the responsible persons and the main assistant read and answer to the messages sent to the aforementioned email address.

Send your messages from your tuni account. Emails from other accounts can end up directly to junk email.

Contacts to students

Announcements concerning the course (e.g. exam publications, changes in deadlines) will be sent as Sisu messages and Plussa news. So, it is important to follow these channels.

Personnel of the course

At this term, the personnel of the course consists of the following people:

The responsible persons (from Hervanta campus) are Ari and Maarit. Maarit conducts lectures on this course implementation both in Finnish and English.

Main assistant is Kilian. He teaches in Finnish exercise hours, takes care of the automatic tests of programming assignments, replies to e-mail messages, and coordinates the evaluation of programming projects.

Assistant Leevi teaches in English exercise hours and supervises in Kooditorio.

Besides those listed above, there are about ten more assistants evaluating project works.

Contacts

Appointments with course personnel are most easily done during lecture breaks, after lecture hours, after exercise hours, or in Kooditorio (in room TC215 or remotely). (Times and links can be found from the menu on the left at Timetable & links.) Moreover, it is also possible to agree on an appointment with the responsible person of the course, to be held either at Hervanta campus or in Zoom.

If you need help in programming, you can join in exercise hours or Kooditorio hours, instead of sending long emails. In this way, it is possible for the assistant to clarify the problem/solution with drawings. Oral communication is usually easier than literary one. However, you can use course email especially if the next Kooditorio is not in near future.
